A New Multilevel Inverter Topology with Reduced DC Sources

The component count for the multilevel inverter has been a research topic last few decades. higher number of power semiconductor devices and sources leads to loss with complex control requirement. A new topology employing concept half-Bridge modules is suggested in this paper. It requires lower dc components. controlled using fundamental frequency switching scheme. With basic unit being able produce 13 level voltage waveforms three sources, higher-level configuration also discussed performance analyzed aspects circuit parameters found better when compared similar topologies proposed recent literature. comparison provided paper set benchmark terms requirements. optimized two fixing algorithms maximizing levels given IGBTs, drivers observations are presented. efficiency analysis gives peak as 98.5%. simulations were carried out PLECS software tool validated prototype rated at 500 W. results several test conditions have reported
